A family business that has kept moving with the times
Licensed scrap dealers mean more than weighing metal and making a payment. It means dealing with a business that knows the trade, knows the area, and knows how to handle waste properly. We've been part of that story since 1951, with I Hayward Ltd having passed through generations of the Hayward family and now being led by a new generation that keeps that tradition alive.
Over the decades, we've grown from a long-standing local merchant into a modern metal recycling and scrap car facility that still believes in straight-talking service. You come to us for competitive prices, and you stay with us because we keep things approachable and clear from the first call. We make responsible recycling feel simple, practical, and worth your time.
Licensed, approved and ready to handle scrap responsibly
Our licences matter because they protect you as well as the environment. We are fully licensed by the Environment Agency for waste management and approved as a waste carrier, so we can handle waste collection and scrap metal work properly.
We also hold a Scrap Metal Dealers Licence issued by Wrexham County Borough Council. On top of that, we hold Wamitab continuing competence certification, which shows we keep up with the standards expected in this industry. When you get in touch with us, you're dealing with a business that takes compliance seriously without making the process hard work for you.
